Expert: Parallel import, Android preference cut iPhone prices
MOSCOW, Jan 25 (PRIME) -- The iPhone prices in Russia could have fallen thanks to parallel imports, customers’ transfer to the Android devices, and an overall decrease of demand for smartphones, MForum Analytics analyst Alexei Boiko told PRIME on Wednesday.
Some could have thought that “the rising inconveniences of the use of the iPhone in Russia is a reason to switch to the Android smartphones,” Boiko said.
The total decrease of demand for smartphones “forces all the participants of the chain of price making to curb their appetite,” he added.
On marketplace Yandex Market, the price of the iPhone 14 Pro with 128 GB fell to 86,099 rubles now from over 90,000 rubles at the beginning of January.
